Camping las Sauces to Villaviciosa (Alburgue Congreso)
Km walked: 36
Km total: 434
It rained cats and dogs all night long- loud ones that barked and meowed as they struck the tent. We woke up around 6:30 and decided to sleep more to let the rain let up. Eventually it did and we were able to pack up without getting wet.
The walk was very nice and pleasant, following single track trail and dirt and gravel roads, first by the sea and later in the day up into the hills. It rained off and on, sprinkles mostly, but it never lasted long.
We are at an Alburgue tonight, but we have our own room. It’s a cozy double with a bunk bed, and it even has its own bathroom.
Tomorrow we head back out again enroute to Gijon, a large city by the sea, and will pass through it the day after. The Camino has picked itself back up over the past few days, and it has been interesting and beautiful again. I am not sure how long this will last. I suppose it remains to be seen.
