It was a pleasent day as we headed into Snoqualmie pass. Once we got within 8 miles of the pass we started seeing copious amounts of day hikers enjoying the mountains and the sunny weather on this great Saturday.
We finally reached the ski area around 4:30 and walked down one of the ski runs instead of taking the trail, which meandered away from where we ultimately wanted to go. At the base of the run lay an empty lodge and bar and defunct chair lift, and across the street there was the Shmmit Inn and some small convenience stores.
We checked into the hotel and did laundry while watching a CNN special on Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton and eating potatoe chips. I am happy to not have had the opportunity over the past 5 months to watch much of this political sharade that I’m sure has boosted ratings and lined the pockets of all these news outlets. I’m not sure what our political system has turned into. I wonder what people in other countries think of this?
