We climbed for a straight 8 miles over 3k feet back to the mountain crest. There were good views on the steep ascent of thick forested mountain slopes and valleys.
Throughout the day we endulated across the spine of the mountain crests, perusing near their edges to get sweeping views of the rolling mountains, and glimpses of dark blue lakes below us. The lakes looked like someone had accidentily kicked a bucket of dusk blue paint over some rocks and trees and left it there to dry.
We are going to try for 25 tommorrow.
Yeah! You’ve hiked over 1200 miles!!! The scenery on this part of the trail is stunning. I love the moss on the tree trunks!
