Wind and cold and cloudy skies. It was so windy that at one point I looked up and saw a bird perfectly suspended in the air, flapping its wings but staying perfectly still. The poor thing could not fly in the direction it wanted to.
It was a long day due to the wind and crappy camping options. We are camped out of the wind luckily once we decended the ridge to Oak Creek, but it’s roaring up in the trees above us. It sounds like a vaccum cleaner up in the canopy sucking all the leaves out of the large oak tree we are camped under. 8 more miles hiking through another wind farm and then to Mojave.??
