It was nice waking up and having water near by. The morning was cool as we meandered the ridge line along Deep Creek. The sun soon caught us and it was very hot the remainder of the day- probably the hottest it has been so far.
Seven miles in we emerged to the Hot Springs of Deep Creek. This is a very popular spot not only for thru hikers but other day and night users. This is evidenced by the amount of toilet paper and trash everywhere, which is a real shame because it is such a beautiful area to swim. We stopped there for a snack and to people watch. This was particularly interesting because this is a clothing optional Hot spring. Genitals and breasts alike flopped to and fro as we tried to munch on some tortillas and hummus. We ate fast and grabbed some water and got out of there.
The rest of the afternoon was very hot. There was no shade and exposure was extreme. We finally reached the end of the creek at the Mojave Resevoir, not much of anything now since it is practically dried up.
We are camped surrounded by some trees and somewhat sheltered by the wind which has picked up again this afternoon. There are quite a few hikers here winding down and getting ready for bed.
Today was the first day we did not see any clouds.
