This is what Domonick is bringing on the PCT. Many people have asked what I bring, so thought I would make a post about it. A lot of things are replacements from previous hikes because they had reached the end of their usable life. But a lot of things are the same. Everything weighs about 9 pounds (not including food and water). Not included are ice axes, micro-spikes and a bear canister which we will pick up in Kennedy Meadows, the gateway to the really big mountains in the Sierra where we will probably hit snow. Those will add a bit more weight but are not items we will carry for long. Water capacity will be about 7 liters which will be plenty for dry sections. Carolyn’s pack is a lot lighter because I’m carrying a lot of the gear we both will use, but shh, I’m going to play a trick on her and put some rocks in her pack when she’s not looking! (JK)
