The weather is cold here in Massachusetts at the end of December. And the light has been sucked out of the day. Has been for a few months now. The dark comes around 4:30 in the afternoon and remains until 7:00 the next morning. You have to learn to like it. It’s not something that is easy to get along with. But it’s okay.
I mostly have been waiting the last remaining days away. Waiting for the start of the ride. FedEx came and took my bike away today. They loaded it up into the truck after scanning the bar code. I got an email right away confirming the start of its journey south.
6 days left and I’ve run out of things to do, things to plan. You can only plan so much. I don’t know what it is I’m hoping to learn on this trip. One moment runs into the next moment without pause these days. I’m not sure what this all means. It is a curse and a blessing to not be able to sit still. To meander and wander and be nothing of this earth yet blend so absolutely into its interior as to be completely absorbed within it, belonging to it all.

I’ve been trying to learn more about landscape photography lately, specifically shooting in RAW format and doing some post edits in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Below are some samples of these efforts.
