It was a great day for hiking today. Got an early start and made it to Hurd Brooke lean to by 1 PM. I was feeling good so I took a break and had lunch and later decided to hike 8 more miles to a campsite at Rainbow Lake. I’m glad I pushed on because the lake here is beautiful. It was hard saying bye to my dad but it was great that we got to hike to the top of Khatadin together. It is something I will remember for a long time. My legs feel strong after today, so I will try and make it a little farther than I had originally planned, since the terrain is relatively flat. I’m doing great so far and there are a lot of hikers here at the campsite. There is a guy named Connor who is also heading south and we had dinner together and then he made a fire which was nice. Looking forward to seeing where tomorrow will bring me.
